Contracts
Written and oral contracts are the lifeblood of living in a modern world with a free market economy. Each of us engages, every day, in dozens of contractual transactions. The most important of these should be written, not oral, and carefully analyzed by an attorney. Breach of contract is a common source of jury trials; specific performance of the contract may sometimes be sought.
Insurance contracts, real estate sales contracts, employment contracts, and all manner of commercial obligations lead to litigation. The ability to clearly analyze contractual obligations and then interpret them in a way that makes sense to a jury are crucial to success in proper planning for trial. Members have taught business and contract law at the university level and at the local technical college.
